Intro to the Poems of Wallace Stevens

Class Description

Stevens is the least read of the major Modernist Poets in English but one of the most rewarding. We will read many of his most famous shorter poems and, if we seem ready, try one of his longer poems as well. Students should have The Collected Poems of Wallace Stevens, which is available in three different editions. The Knopf edition is not as complete as the other two, and should be avoided.
