Watch Them Bloom Native Plants in Spring
With Louise Kulzer
Class Description
Join a local naturalist this spring to watch as native plants come to life around us. This class will focus on discovery and appreciation rather than identification. We’ll see which plants start blooming early and which are late bloomers. In addition, learn a few characteristics which make different flowers distinct. If you come every session, you’ll have a list of bloom times you can refer to next year and many years to come. Take photos to share with friends or grandkids! Class will meet rain or shine. Meet in Magnuson Park at the Mountaineers Native Plant Garden kiosk, kitty-corner from the climbing wall. Driving directions to the Mountaineers native plant garden: Make your way to Sand Point Way NE and enter the park on NE 74th St. After about a block, turn left onto 63rd Ave NE. Drive north on 63rd Ave about 2 blocks then turn left onto NE 77th St. In half a block you’ll see the blue south wall of the Mountaineers building. The road curves to the right. Before the curve there is a large rather old parking lot on the right and a kiosk to the left. The kiosk marks the entrance to the native plant garden. Park in the parking lot. We’ll meet at the kiosk. If you have trouble standing for an hour, bring a small portable stool. Fridays, 10:30 am - 11:30 am In Person: Magnuson Park Class Limit: 15
