King Lear is Shakespeare's most powerful tragedy and one of the pinnacles of Western drama. The play features several of Shakespeare's most memorable characters, including Lear, his youngest daughter Cordelia, and the Fool. Any scholarly edition of the play will do. As several pages from three scholarly books will be distributed to the class, please pay a $5.00 copying fee for these extra pages at the beginning of the term.
