Class Description

King Lear is Shakespeare's most powerful tragedy and one of the pinnacles of Western drama. The play features several of Shakespeare's most memorable characters, including Lear, his youngest daughter Cordelia, and the Fool. Any scholarly edition of the play will do. Several pages from three scholarly books will be distributed to the class via email. Printed copies are also available upon request. Please pay a $5.00 copying fee for the printed copies at the beginning of the term. Please have read all of act one, scene one for the first class.
