About the Event
Join John M. (Mike) Wallace, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at UW, on Wednesday November 8th, from 12pm-1pm, for a fascinating presentation on atmospheric phenomena. Mike will share an online public access animations library (in the style of Wikipedia) that he created. The library is designed to acquaint teachers and self-motivated students with a virtual treasure trove of wonders - a variety of different kinds of storms, clouds, and optical effects. The library is made up of short (typically about minute-long), silent, text-free videos with informative captions. Mike will also give a brief status report on the El Niño event that is currently in progress.
