There is now a worldwide scientific consensus (the term unequivocal is often used) that climate change is real, very serious, urgent, man-made, and primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels. But there has been a thundering silence in this country (but not in the rest of the world) about climate change since the recent election: one political party says it is a hoax or unimportant, and the other party is so obsessed with “kitchen table” issues that they ignore the very great dangers that lie in the near future.
