Class Description

This course will look at the amazing transformation of China since the death of Mao Zedong from a backward and largely isolated third world country to an economic, political and military powerhouse. Although this course is a continuation of the winter course, it will not be at all difficult to pick up the story at this point. I will be selling the course packet for $18 in classroom B-2 from 10:30-12:00 on Friday, March 27. Unsold copies will be available in the office. If they run out, you’ll have to be content with a pdf copy. If you’d like to learn about the culture of China, especially its literature and poetry, be sure to look into Marianne LoGerfo’s course.
