China Behind the Headlines S1
With Marianne LoGerfo
Class Description
From the ravages of the warlords to the horrors of civil war and the Japanese invasion, from the disastrous experiments in Communist social engineering to the miracle of economic recovery and technological dominance, China's past century was one of the most intense, dramatic and world changing periods in history. World-class arts, films and literature, testimony to the resilience of its people and culture, will bring China's journey to modernity vividly alive. The class is also offered on Zoom, Thursdays from 10:30 to noon. While this class partners with Bill Taylor's History of China, both courses stand alone as well. Course books will be available for $18 at the Lifetime Learning Center from 10:30 to noon on Friday, March 27. If you need yours mailed ($24.00), please contact me as soon as possible with your address. Tuesdays, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm In Person: Youth Room Class Limit: 40
