Introduction to the Feldenkrais® Method
with Gail Thompson
Class Description
The Feldenkrais® Method uses neuroplasticity, the brain’s curiosity-based ability to change and improve itself and our body’s behavior. We seek more efficient function and comfort in our movements. In this course, eight Awareness Through Movement lessons and some short talks will introduce the basics of the Method. Benefits may include increased balance and lessened pain. Join us online or in person for small, slow, movement variations that communicate with the brain. Please note that these lessons are not exercises such as aerobics or strength. No experience needed. Lessons may be done lying on a mat on the floor or seated in flat-bottomed chairs. Wear comfortable clothing. All participants will be asked to agree to a liability release form. *Please note: I am teaching on Zoom and In Person at the same time; sign up for one format or the other, knowing that you may move back and forth between them. Tuesdays, 1:30 – 2:30, INSTRUCTOR ZOOM and In Person INSTRUCTOR ZOOM, Class Limit: 50 In Person: Room B5, Class Limit: 12
